Our next match is a 2-Gun Fun Match on the 29th of December. Competitors will need a Shotgun and their choice of a .22 Long Barrel Pistol or a .22 Semi-Auto Rifle. We hope you chose to join us for the match.
We will shortly be releasing our 2019 calendar and in the meantime wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Our next match is the Shield Winter Action Shotgun Match.
Being held on the weekend of the 17th & 18th of November.
The match is also an NRA Championship match.
The match has an approximate round count of 140 Birdshot & 25 Solid Slug.
Bird shot must be fibre-wadded. Suitable ammunition is available on site.
Hot/Cold food & drink are also available on site.

This weekend Shield hosted an experimental 2-Gun Team Match which featured an innovative “tag team” Stage to supplement the individual match.

The match itself had a round count of over 200 and consisted of 7 Stages; 4 that required both a Shotgun and the competitors’ choice of .22 Rifle or Long Barrel Pistol along with another solo stage of Shotgun, a solo Rifle/LBP Stage and the special Tag Team Stage.
Congratulations to Ben Ducker for winning the Individual match and to the team of Ben Ducker, Jon Jennings and Mark Sienesi for winning the team challenge.

Our next match is a Steel Challenge Match taking place on the 13th & 14th of October. We then move on to our Winter Action Shotgun Match on November 17th & 18th. We hope many of you will choose to join us for these matches.
Shield will be hosting a Team 2-Gun Practical Match on Sunday 30th of September 2018.
Competitors will take part in teams of 3 with all scores to count toward a grand total. The winning team scoring the highest combined total. We shall also produce an individual score for each competitor.
Competitors will require a multi-shot Shotgun and a Semi-Auto .22 Rifle or .22 Long Barrelled Pistol. The match will not be divided into divisions and team members need not use the same type of shotgun or .22 as one another.
The match will consist of approximately 100 Rounds of Birdshot and 100-150 Rounds of .22.
The match entry will cost £25 per person.
Birdshot must be fibre-wadded, suitable ammunition along with hot/cold food and drink will be available on site.
We hope this will interest many of you. If you are interested but cannot form a team of 3 please contact us and we will try to form teams on the day.

I would like to thank everyone for the fantastic attendance at our Action Rifle & Pistol Match this weekend.
Special thanks to all of our amazing volunteer Range Officers without which the matches would not be possible. The forecast rain held off on Saturday and Sunday was bathed in glorious sunshine adding to the enjoyment.
We are hosting a team multi-gun event later this month, more details to follow.

The Match consisted of 10 stages, uniquely open to 7 divisions, all completed in the searing heat of our beautiful and too rarely seen summer sun.

The Match consisted of 12 stages totalling nearly 200 rounds of Bird, Buck and Solid Slug, shot on the range and in our woodland area, all shot in a single day making it the largest and most demanding course of fire in UK Practical shooting!
