Shield held the first Practical Pistol Course with live fire ammunition since the ban of '97. The students had Taurus revolvers and the Browning Buckmark long-barrelled pistols.
The course instructor was Jim Gibney, helped out by Nick Towndrow.
It is necessary to pass this course in order to take part in the competitions here in the UK and abroad where the match hosts are always pleased to welcome the UK shooters.
We in the UK have an excellent safety record, as everyone who wishes to take part in the competitions has been trained in the safe handling of firearms. Steve.
